The Blue Half Podcast:- Season 2 Episode 10

In this week’s Episode Rodger is joined by Paul Bracewell. After winning the League and the ECWC in his first season at Everton, there’s no doubt that the injury suffered on New Year’s Day 1986 at Newcastle cut “Brace” down in his prime.

Two and a half years of treatment led to a stoical acceptance that he would “never be the same player again”. Nevertheless Paul reinvented himself from a dynamic box-to-box midfielder into a “sitter and passer”.

After only 146 appearances for Everton over 5 years he went on to play for another 10 years for Sunderland, Newcastle and Fulham, before embarking on a new career in coaching.

We talk about his time at Everton, the rest of his playing career, his roles thereafter and his view on the present day Blues.
